Wedding Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the photographer?
When you book Fred Tuggle Photography, you get Fred Tuggle.
Do you work with an assistant, or a second photographer?
For all but the smallest weddings, I bring a second photographer to shoot and help me with setting up lights, carrying my gear, etc. She produces some amazing images at each wedding. She starts when I start shooting and stays with me throughout the day. She’ll provide additional angles during the day, and she helps to keep me hydrated, too.
When will I receive my final corrected wedding photos?
How can I use my photos?
Who am I to say how you can use your photos? I'm not one of those photographers that holds your photos hostage. I do retain full copyright on all my photos, but you do get a personal use release allowing you to share your images online, or make your own prints.
All I ask for in return is that you don't re-edit the final photos and then share them on social media ( I take a lot of time and pride in making sure your photos are perfect when I deliver them to you). Plus, I always post a few edited images on Facebook from your wedding that you can share all over social media.
Oh, and I would love if you spread the good word about Fred Tuggle Photography with everyone you know.
Can I order prints from you?
If you want the best quality and professional lab prints, we've got you covered! The professional lab prints are beautiful, and shipped directly from the photo lab to you.
Do you retouch the images?
All delivered images are corrected for white balance, lighting, and cropping. Please visit the Image Correction page for more information on this.
Do you include the digital negatives?
All collections include the final high-resolution, fully-edited, print-ready files, along with a print release, allowing you to have your images printed anywhere and at any size. I feel that it’s important for you to have an archive of all of the edited images from your wedding. However, I do not provide the RAW files - the uncorrected digital “negatives”. Also I do not deliver all photos taken. Everything you receive is corrected in the same manner as the photos in my portfolio and blog.
How many images will we receive?
It depends on the length of the wedding, family size, and the events of the day. I believe in quality over quantity, capturing the unique story of your day as it unfolds. The last thing I want is to overwhelm you with every image captured or by including a lot of redundant photos of a near-identical moment. I remove all of the out of focus, blink eyed, poorly-lit, and bad expression photos and just deliver all of the great moments.
I want to completely tell the story of your day by providing a collection of amazing images.
For an average 8 hours of wedding coverage, I deliver around 600-800 corrected images and we are usually able to deliver them within 2-3 weeks.
How are the image delivered?
You will be emailed 2 website links to your online galleries for print and canvas orders and sharing with your family and friends. For more information about the online galleries, please visit the Photo Gallery Information page.
For collections and sessions that include a usb flash drive, all high-resolution corrected images are saved to a usb flash drive and mailed at no extra cost.
Do you photograph details? What about family formals?
Although most of my wedding coverage is moment-driven, I also understand the importance of photographing all the little details of your day – and I love to provide publication quality photos of your personal details, table settings, and all of the little things that you’ve spent time and energy planning and designing for your wedding day.
I also take great care to provide a collection of artistically composed, well-lit, and natural family photos as a heirloom to your family and friends.
Do you shoot more than one wedding on the same day?
Just one – yours. I love my job, and my very favorite part of it is the day I spend photographing you and your loved ones. But it’s a long day, with few breaks, and in order to provide the best possible service to you I need to ensure that I’m well-rested and excited to give you my all.
Do you offer albums?
Yes! A wedding album is truly your first heirloom as a new family, and I personally think all my wedding clients should have an album to remember their wedding day.
How does the album design process work?
To make this process as simple as possible for you, I start off by designing my ideal version of your album (without any feedback whatsoever). Then a private online gallery is created for you to review the pages. Next, you can comment on specific pages to request any changes, and then we may have a phone call, if needed, to discuss further. By providing my expert guidance during the design process, you have less to worry about which is one important reason to hire me. If there is a request I disagree with, I will politely advise as such, and of course, any final decisions are yours to make.
Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely! I can travel both nationally and internationally. I requires airfare, lodging and usually a rental car.
What gear do you bring with you on a wedding day?
We use professional cameras and lenses. We always carry back up gear and have plenty of professional lighting tools to resolve the most difficult lighting situations.
Are you insured?
I have general liability and equipment coverage insurance. Some venues require a certificate of insurance so please check with them.
What do you wear to the wedding?
I dress to match the style of the wedding. If the style is formal, I wear a suit and tie. Or if the style is jeans and boots, I wear jeans and comfortable shoes to match (no sneakers of course). I want to blend in and not stand out.
Can guests take photos at the wedding?
Of course. All I ask is that your guests do not interfere with me or my team when we are capturing your day. You should consider having an Unplugged weddings so there are no issues with your images being ruined by the guests.
We’d love to work with you; what happens next? How do we book you?
I’d love to meet with you both and get to know you! Please contact me or give me a call at 214-395-8710. Let me know a few times that work for you to meet (meetings typically take place on weekday evenings). When we meet, we'll discuss your day in greater depth and determine the right wedding collection for you. Finally, your booking is completed entirely online in just minutes with a digital signature and the non-refundable retainer to secure your date.
If we want your services, when should we book you?
Since it is first come, first serve, the earlier the better. Typically bookings are 6-12 months in advance but there’s no hard rule here. If I happen to be available on shorter notice, that’s no problem, but of course your date is more likely to be available if you book sooner than later. I will reserve your wedding date when I receive your retainer fee with a signed contract.
What is the payment schedule?
In order to book your wedding date, you must pay a $400 retainer fee or one-third the amount of your total Wedding Collection (which ever is less). The retainer fee counts toward your total wedding cost. There are 3 payment schedules: in full where you pay the entire balance due, 3 payments where you pay 3 equal payments before the wedding date and a monthly payment schedule where the payments are equally spread out each month (up to 18 months) until your wedding date. The wedding contract outlines the payment schedule in detail.
I have never had an unhappy bride, let alone a request for a refund, but the lawyers want this posted on our website in addition to being in the contract signed at booking. We go above and beyond to ensure that you will be thrilled and that you never have to think to ask about our refund policy. With that being said, here is a message from the depressing world of legal:
